Your Way Kitchen ("we," "us," "our," "the App") is a meal planning application developed by Odin Resolutions. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and how it's handled. If anything here doesn't match what you see in the App, please contact us and we'll fix it.
01Information we collect

02How your information is used
- Pro plan only: photos you submit are sent to Google's Gemini API to analyze food content, estimate nutrition, or generate a recipe. We do not use your photos to train any AI model.
- Pro plan only: your preferences and budget data are used to generate and adjust recipes and meal plans through the Gemini API. On the Free plan, pasted recipe text (and nothing else) may be processed by the AI solely to structure it into a recipe form.
- Account data is used to authenticate you and keep your plans, saved meals, and preferences synced to your account.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
03Where your information is stored
Where your data lives depends on your plan:
- Free: your meal plans, recipes, logs, and preferences are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers, and deleting the App deletes that data. Only your basic account record (name, email) exists in our authentication system.
- Backup & Sync: your data is stored in the cloud so it survives a lost or damaged phone and syncs across devices. Your data is not sent to any AI service on this plan.
- Pro: cloud storage as above, plus the AI processing described in section 02.
Cloud storage uses Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Authentication) so your data is available across sessions and devices. Firebase is operated by Google and maintains its own security and data-handling practices, which you can review in Firebase's privacy and security documentation.
Photos submitted for analysis or recipe recreation are processed via the Gemini API and are not permanently stored by Your Way Kitchen beyond what's needed to complete that request, unless you choose to save the resulting recipe to your account.
04Third-party services
Your Way Kitchen relies on the following third-party services to function. Each processes a limited set of data strictly to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database storage, and app infrastructure
- Google Gemini API — recipe generation, food photo analysis, and recipe recreation from images
- Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — account authentication
- RevenueCat — subscription management; receives purchase receipts and subscription status from Google Play / the App Store
- USDA FoodData Central & Open Food Facts — food nutrition databases; your search terms and scanned barcodes are sent to these services to look up nutrition data (no account information is shared)
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
05Camera & photo access
Your Way Kitchen requests camera and/or photo library access solely so you can photograph a meal for calorie logging or recipe recreation. You control when the camera is used — the App does not access your camera or photo library in the background.
06Your choices & rights
- You can review and edit your dietary preferences and saved data within the App at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email on our Info & Support page. We will delete your account data within a reasonable time of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.
- You can revoke Google Sign-In access for Your Way Kitchen at any time via your Google Account permissions settings.
07Children's privacy
Your Way Kitchen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
08Data security
We use industry-standard practices, including those provided by Firebase Authentication and Firestore's access-control rules, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Your Way Kitchen evolves. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
